Davide is an expert in Italian painting and drawing from the late fifteenth to the early twentieth century, with a particular specialisation in Ferrarese and Emilian painting of the early sixteenth century.
He graduated in the History of Modern Art from the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, under the guidance of Professors Daniele Benati and Mauro Lucco. His dissertation was devoted to the sixteenth-century Ferrarese painter Giovanni Battista Benvenuti, better known as L'Ortolano, and formed the basis of a monographic study of his work, due to be published shortly.
Before entering the art market, Davide gained significant professional experience in the luxury fashion industry, including within the Gucci Group, where he developed strong skills in sales, client relations and corporate management.
In 2010, he moved to Paris to launch and develop the international branch of the Maurizio Nobile gallery, contributing over the following years to its growth and positioning within the European Old Masters market.
Drawing on more than twenty years of professional experience across art, luxury, research and strategic development, Davide has joined Galerie Pinilla as Manager in charge of Strategic and Business Development.
He is acknowledged by the CEA - Compagnie des Experts en Art & Antiquités - member of the CEDEA - Confédération Européenne des Experts d'Art.
Alongside his work in the art market, Davide continues to pursue academic study and specialist research. He has published scholarly contributions, including for the Federico Zeri Foundation at the University of Bologna. Most recently, he served on the scientific and editorial committee of the exhibition Il Cinquecento a Ferrara, held at Palazzo dei Diamanti, Ferrara, where his contribution focused in particular on the art and work of Ortolano.
As a specialist in his field, he has also been invited to lecture on the MAAM Master's programme - Master in Art Market and Museums - at Roma Tre University in Rome.
